@  Bizargh : (Today, 06:38 AM) But on the bright side, there are still peeps like Thomas Productions & the aforementioned Simply Splendid that still enjoy the ol' joys of head bobbin'. And it's not like we haven't got a wealth of classics to enjoy from Edgeworks Entertainment, Jamie98s/Kokobear, Tree Skunk Productions & more.
@  Bizargh : (Today, 06:34 AM) At the end of the day, not a lot of people are going to dedicate such a wealth of their time into something like machinimation simply because it's fun. They make it to practice the skills they want to learn in life, produce a portfolio for a course or career and/or take an opportunity to make some fun-filled ad revenue on the side if they're lucky enough. And it's simple fact: Picking up a controller & bobbing some heads up & down doesn't provide as many paths or skills in life compared to working with more advanced tech such as Source Film-maker or Maya (You can hold it as an example of video-editing & writing like King Sangos did for the latter, but if there is anything else it can serve, I've yet to hear an example). Goodness me, I know of at least three SFM animators with their own motion capture set-up.
@  Bizargh : (Today, 06:24 AM) Gonna keep saying it everytime somebody says "Machinima is dying". It ain't dying. It's evolved. Look no further than Source Film-maker for a healthy example. It may not be as simple as a Demo in Quake or a Saved Film in Halo, but the possibilities are only limited by your assets & your animating skills with them (Perhaps your hardware too if you're looking to render 20+mins of 1080p 60fps like The Winglet did).
@  XxQmanxXP2B : (24 July 2016 - 01:36 PM) Although Simply Splendid does a farily good job, it's refreshing when i see his work.
@  XxQmanxXP2B : (24 July 2016 - 01:35 PM) Machinima is dying anyway, people have shifted from video game movies to troll videos and commentaries and such, With Arbiter shifting mostly to mincraft animation and Virus not doing machinima anymore to begin with, though they were both over the top, they were a few of the last well renowned halo machinimators, of course using halo though is like beating a dead horse unless you really do a good fucking job like Kokobear back in the day
@  Bizargh : (20 July 2016 - 11:12 AM) For Gorilla Gong. It's what I believe Ross & more dedicated Gorilla Gong refer to as the folk that decides what makes it to the showcase. At one point, they were calling for more reviewers, but activity seems low & no showcases have been added in weeks.
@  PT (Dead Rin... : (19 July 2016 - 04:44 PM) Machinima Reviewers?
@  SirMarty : (19 July 2016 - 03:30 PM) I think someone posted something in an introduction thread about how reviewers were running out of quality content to review and/or there was little benefit in reviewing compared to the past. Also, the revamping of Gorilla Gong was when activity crashed
@  Bizargh : (17 July 2016 - 05:08 PM) Sidenote: Bulletstorm & it's free Soundtrack, Gears of War 2 and True Crime: Streets of LA have arrived to the Sound Collection: http://www.machinina...ection/?p=38720
@  Bizargh : (17 July 2016 - 05:07 PM) I think it was something announced more recently than the launch, but I honestly can't recall if that's actually true. Still, I hope there are no problems occurring for them.
@  AsG xTiMiDx : (17 July 2016 - 12:02 AM) I remember Ross Scott (director of Freemind's Mind and Civil Protection) announced the site back in 2013, they must be doing something fantastic behind the scenes.
@  Bizargh : (16 July 2016 - 10:12 PM) The admin "The Britain" has shown activity within the last few days, so perhaps there's behind the scenes work going on if I recall correctly, if not a shortage of active reviewers.
@  AsG xTiMiDx : (16 July 2016 - 04:34 PM) Not sure what it could be other than a collapse in traffic. There are a lot of sub-forums that aren't being used at all. Kinda sucks.
@  Bizargh : (16 July 2016 - 04:13 PM) I've been curious to the lack of activity occurring there myself.
@  AsG xTiMiDx : (16 July 2016 - 02:50 PM) That site looks dead
@  AsG xTiMiDx : (16 July 2016 - 02:24 PM) I see. I'll have to check it out. I believe I may shift to Source machinima.
@  PT (Dead Rin... : (16 July 2016 - 01:50 PM) Most Source machinimators or more aware of sites like GorillaGong, every now and again we get an SFM or Gmod machinimator but not as regular as Halo, GTA, and Minecraft.
@  AsG xTiMiDx : (16 July 2016 - 12:21 PM) Surprised no one here uses the source games for machinima
@  Bizargh : (13 July 2016 - 08:25 PM) Borderlands & Expansions, Gears of War [PC] & Mirror's Edge have arrived to the Sound Collection, with Team Fortress 2 receiving an update after the Meet your Match update: http://www.machinina...ection/?p=38720
@  SirMarty : (08 July 2016 - 07:13 PM) I wish I could help you out Qman but I don't have the equipment necessary :(
