@  Bizargh : (25 April 2016 - 07:19 PM) And I think that's my two-pence on a topic that's taken enough of my two-pences from me. *Goes back to converting PlanetSide 2 audio files, looking forward to Battleborn and letting this song put a smile on my face: /watch?v=QDzZbz-YGYs*
@  Bizargh : (25 April 2016 - 07:09 PM) And that's what I'd tell anyone; No need to make what you do a statement. Make it something you enjoy doing or the thought of finishing. Funnily enough, this is what produced two of my fondest projects, and what-I'm-lead-to-believe-to-be the most enjoyed by viewers; Reach Runner & The Vicious Cycle of Ragnarok.
@  Bizargh : (25 April 2016 - 06:53 PM) At the end of the day, because I simply just don't bother with the real-world drama, I can enjoy the memories of making quick giggles with a friend of mine, crunching five whole days to finish Reach Runner, attending whilst sick for body-acting for Tales of Equilibria: Tome of the Mist (And throwing up in a bucket for all to hear), and the hilarity that was me trying to prepare a body-act session for The Vicious Cycle of Ragnarok that I aside from two angles never used in the final cut. And simply wonder where to go from here.
@  SirMarty : (25 April 2016 - 06:23 PM) Even if I had the resources or popularity, I wouldn't go off and make a new machinima forum. I'd just try and collaborate with the creators of establishments that already exist and use their platforms instead of splitting everyone up even more just for personal gain.
@  SirMarty : (25 April 2016 - 06:22 PM) One last thing though is that people do need to get the fuck off their high horse, especially these nobodies that come out of nowhere and get unnecessary attention, and just look for an already established community for a niche or a dying/dead community.
@  SirMarty : (25 April 2016 - 06:20 PM) It was just a casual video talking a bit about the machinima subculture and a very brief explanation of its history, but overall it was just come check us out, we post content daily, and if you like machinima we're your place to be.
@  SirMarty : (25 April 2016 - 06:18 PM) hashtag* nor did they force on a "we need to bring the community back together"-type of rhetoric.
@  SirMarty : (25 April 2016 - 06:17 PM) I think Machinination is the perfect platform for that. For example, I remember someone made a video promoting the machinima forum Gorilla Gong. They didn't try making it some trend with a stupid hashtah
@  SirMarty : (25 April 2016 - 06:16 PM) Generally, however, I think we do need to "band together", but in the sense that we have an actual forum, an actual space to discuss machinima, create content whether on our own or together, and just enjoy this niche together while indirectly bringing in new people from the forum's activity and talking about this through social media.
@  Bizargh : (25 April 2016 - 06:01 PM) This was especially true of Halo machinimation groups, when they were trying to make the call to "Band together", when it in fact drove them apart more often, whilst I sat back and thought "Energy better spent just making what one enjoys rather than trying to manage unnecessary relations & obligations".
@  Bizargh : (25 April 2016 - 05:57 PM) Personally, I've always found this "We need to band together" attitude counter-productive. When there's already enough red-tape or sluggish hold-ups to our video games these days, I'd imagine the last thing a player wants to think about facing is "Am I fit to join the club?" as if they're in/back at school or something. I just wanna play a video game and escape reality!
@  SirMarty : (25 April 2016 - 03:59 PM) If I was making Halo machinima, I'd advertise the hell out of this forum. I'd only make a forum for myself in terms of my own content, but for (Halo) machinima in general I'd come here. This place is already established, and there's no need to fracture the community any further than it already is.
@  SirMarty : (25 April 2016 - 03:57 PM) In terms of the community coming together though, when it comes to Halo machinima, Machinination is IMO the perfect site for that. There have been other machinima forums that have failed, and a few have even tried merging and still failed due to drama and the community "leaders'" ego. This forum has really never died and everyone here is so tight-knit.
@  SirMarty : (25 April 2016 - 03:55 PM) These guys are delusional. I give this movement a month tops. After that, no one here or anywhere else on the internet will give any fucks about it lmfao. XD
@  SirMarty : (25 April 2016 - 03:53 PM) Which, we all know, will never fucking happen. It'll stay that way since 343 is at the helm of development and is so dense, and as they have fanboys who will praise them any way they can as a form of damage control and for a Halo following on their YouTubes
@  SirMarty : (25 April 2016 - 03:52 PM) I watched the original video, and from my POV I see it as this guy trying to get the community to band together instead of returning to Halo's original gameplay model. I mean, that too was indirectly echoed in the video, but I heard moreso trying to get Halo players both old and new, and try to bring back the size, the activity, the excitement, the creativity the Halo community had during its golden age.
@  Bizargh : (25 April 2016 - 02:41 PM) Frankly, I'd much prefer hearing news that the other Halo titles will become additions to the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility list or Halo: Reach was getting an Xbox One port (Seeing as it's one of the worst performing games given Xbox One emulation and is borderline unplayable in most cases), because 343 Industries has blundered enough times to make me feel certain whatever they do will not be to my liking or risk being absent or dysfunctional.
@  Bizargh : (25 April 2016 - 02:33 PM) And I'm assuming back to a content checklist of what Halo: Reach already provided and then build from there.
@  Bizargh : (25 April 2016 - 02:29 PM) From what Qman has me believing, it's basically a "movement" to convince 343 Industries to return to classical conventions & mechanics for Halo. You know, back to the days Halo played more like a console-designed arena shooter and didn't make you read an entire series of books to have any context to the Campaign.
@  SirMarty : (25 April 2016 - 05:23 AM) Qman, I posted a reply to the #MakeMachinimaGreatAgain response to the original #HaloX video. What I don't understand is, how does machinima fit into all of this? I watched the video that starts this quote frankly stupid trend and the guy never uttered a word about machinima, so I'm a little confused here.
